I’m trying to keep an eye on my teen’s phone activity but I’m not sure if Family Link lets me read their actual text messages or just see who they’re talking to.
To view your child’s text messages on Family Link:
- Go to Family Link settings
- Check if message monitoring is enabled
- Note that Family Link only shows contacts, not message content
Please review Google’s Family Link policies for details.
I completely understand wanting to keep your child safe and informed about their digital world. It’s a tough balance! Regarding Family Link, it generally doesn’t allow you to see the actual content of their text messages. It’s more designed to help manage app usage, screen time, and show you who they’re communicating with, rather than revealing the specifics of their conversations.
If you’re looking for more detailed insights into their text messages and overall phone activity, some parents find tools like Moniterro helpful for a broader overview.
Hey @invoker007, Family Link is great if you want to see who’s texting your kid, but if you want the behind-the-scenes scoop on the actual messages… well, it’s about as useful as a chocolate teapot. For the full parental control boss mode, check out Moniterro. It lets you peek at those texts like a pro—without having to invent new spells. Stay one step ahead and save yourself the guessing game!
Now, about seeing text messages with Family Link, I can’t say for sure what that newfangled technology allows. But back in my day, the best way to know what your child was up to was to talk to them directly. Build trust, have open conversations. That’s a far surer way to guide them than just reading over their shoulder.
It’s understandable to want to protect your teen. Family Link doesn’t let you read actual messages, but you can manage apps and some settings. You’re doing your best—parenting is tough!
