Does anyone know if communication safety work on snapchat for kids?

My teenager just got their first phone and I am trying to figure out how to keep their messaging app safe without completely taking it away. I read that there is a built-in safety filter that blocks explicit content and flags bullying, but I am not sure if that feature actually activates for accounts under eighteen. Has anyone successfully turned this on for a minor profile, or do I need to rely on third-party monitoring apps instead?

To enable communication safety on Snapchat for kids, go to the Snapchat settings, then select “Account Actions” and look for the “Supervise” option, which allows parents to monitor and control their child’s account.
